Well, I did it.
I started Otezla today.
Press play to see me take my first dose – as seen on Instagram stories this morning February 12th, 2017.
I have very mixed feelings, but mostly I’m hopeful that it can give me the boost I need.
Honestly . . . the boost to get my hands to settle down and not bother me.
Whenever I received my starter pack, I had a lot of feelings. (Check them all out here)
Over the past month, I’ve done some soul-searching and I’m in a place where I’m ready to start this new phase of my journey.
I filmed the following video 2 days prior to me starting Otezla. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Have you been on Otezla? If you have, comment below with your experience! I’ll keep you up to date on mine.

Wishing You A Pain Free Day!
I was on otezlea for my AS. For me it wasn’t helpful and made my pain worse. It really affected me also mentally in a very bad way. I hope it works for you! I have heard it works wonders for some people- it just wasn’t in the cards for me.
Thank you for sharing this! It’s so true- so many meds affect people in different ways. I’m sorry this one didn’t work well with your body. Have you found something that does?
Just finishing up my Otezla starter pack and have had great results. My hands we raw and bleeding from palmo-plantar psoriasis and after a week I started seeing a difference. Today to celebrated and I got a manicure for the first time in 8 months. One finger is still peeling but for the most part I am not in pain or bleeding. My feet are better but not as clear as my hands. And I have noticed no side effects other than occasional loose bowels which is minor compared to the IBS I sometimes have. I have suffered from depression for years and that is a side effect but I am keeping up with meditation and exercise and an antidepressant I already take and have not had any bad effects. Like you, I fought going on this drug. I was especially afraid of altering my immune system. My husband got a terrible cold three weeks ago and I didn’t even catch that! I do take vitamins, fish oil and probiotics. So…good luck to you and your journey with Otezla.
Thank you very much! I’ve noticed slight headaches every day since I started (I’m on day 5) and my tummy definitely hasn’t been super happy. I drink celery juice every morning when I wake up (empty stomach + wait an hour before I eat) – it’s one of the best things for digestive health! I have noticed you HAVE to eat with something, which really throws off my routine. It’s actually annoying to me. Thank you so much for the well wishes – sending them right back to you!
Hi there! Thank you for sharing your story. I am a student completing a research project, and would appreciate if you could take a moment to complete this survey. It is a questionnaire about a new product that could help with the side effects of psoriasis. Thank you!

This seems like a very cool product. Thanks for the survey!
Thanks! I don’t have psoriasis really, just psoriatic arthritis. Well, I don’t mean “just” because I can’t really speak to the psoriasis part!
